Buckingham Palace
Tube station: St James's Park, Victoria (Tube Map)

Buckingham Palace is the London residence of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and has a staff of about 300.

The original Buckingham Palace was converted by John Nash into a palace for George IV. However, Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live there as George and his brother William IV died before the work was completed.

The East Front, facing the Mall, was added in 1913.

During the summer the guard is changed every day.
